HFCSS provides services to the Indigenous communities on and off reserve throughout the
Greater Victoria area from the Peninsula to Port Renfrew.

The HFCSS Mission

Hulitan preserves, unifies and advocates for Indigenous families by supporting
healing and fostering resilience through culturally rooted programs, services and
collaboration with community partners.

The HFCSS Vision

Hulitan empowers Indigenous families and future generations,
walking alongside them and using the cultural principles of
Respect, Honour, Connectedness, Humility and Integrity.

Hulitan, pronounced "Hull-ee-ton",
is a Coast Salish word.

It's from the Cowichan dialect, meaning "saver of life, life giver ". It takes a
community to raise a child, and urban areas are comprised of many
Nations. Thus, we value the traditional teachings of all Indigenous people.
